Craig’s VIP Cuts: 35 Atlanta Street, Suite 3b, McDonough, Ga. 30253 (770) 898-5795
Craig’s VIP Cuts began as an idea in December 2007. After 19 years in the barbering industry, my desire to open another shop returned to me after talking to one of my former barber apprentices. I took him in as a 18 year- old “thug”, straight from boot camp and the streets back in 1995. He went to boot camp because, like many Black males, he was tempted by the lure of fast money in the streets. The judge was going to give him fed time or boot camp. He made the right choice. He came in the shop looking for a a haircut but I gave him an opportunity. He had cut a few heads out of his apartment but no real skills. He did have the desire. To make a long story short, he turned his life around and became the best barbers in Northern Va. After moving to Atlanta years later, I got a call from my apprentice. He said he opened his own shop and he wanted to thank me for helping him changed his life. Little did he know, he helped changed mine. I decided to open another shop because of my 3 former apprentices; all shop owners or managers, who told me that this is what I needed to do; help those future barbers succeed. I have had many opportunites to open another shop in the past 5 years. My 1st shop in Va was a success; great location, great money, but I needed a bigger city. I opened another shop when I moved to Atlanta and we thrived for 3 out of 5 years we were open. However, being new to Georgia, I did not realize that I was not in a good location until my 3rd year in business. Fortunately, after advice from several of my clients, they pointed me to a great city and location.
Craig’s VIP Cuts is steadily becoming one of the most popular barber shops in Henry County and Atlanta’s southside.

5 tips on finding a new barber

Are you in a new city or just looking for a change in your grooming routine? Finding a new barber can be a challenging task, but it doesn’t have to be. With a little bit of research and some helpful tips, you can find the perfect barber for your needs. Here’s how to do it:

1.  Ask for recommendations

One of the easiest ways to find a good barber is to ask for recommendations from friends, family, or coworkers. If you see someone with a great haircut, don’t be afraid to ask them where they got it done. Word of mouth is a powerful tool, and you might be surprised at how many people are willing to share their favorite barbers with you.

2.  Check online reviews

If you don’t know anyone who can give you a recommendation, turn to the internet. Search for barbershops in your area and read online reviews from previous customers. Look for comments about the quality of the haircuts, the professionalism of the staff, and the overall cleanliness of the shop. Take note of any recurring complaints or issues that people have mentioned.

3.  Consider the location

When choosing a new barber, location is an important factor to consider. You don’t want to have to travel too far out of your way for a haircut, but you also don’t want to sacrifice quality for convenience. Look for barbershops that are located in areas that you frequent regularly or that are easily accessible from your home or workplace.

4.  Research the barber’s experience and specialties

Different barbers may have different specialties or levels of experience. Some may be experts in fades or beards, while others may have a particular technique or style that they excel at. Look for barbers who have experience in the type of haircut you want or who specialize in the style you’re going for.

5.  Visit the shop in person

Once you’ve narrowed down your list of potential barbershops, it’s time to pay them a visit in person. This will give you a chance to check out the shop’s atmosphere, meet the staff, and get a feel for the overall vibe of the place. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or request a consultation with a specific barber before making an appointment.

Finding a new barber can be a daunting task, but with a little bit of research and some helpful tips, you can find the perfect barber for your needs. By asking for recommendations, checking online reviews, considering the location, researching the barber’s experience and specialties, and visiting the shop in person, you can find a barber who will give you the perfect cut every time.

Finding the right haircut

Have you ever seen a guy who has a super receding hairline and he has long dreads? How about a man with a mohawk but is almost completely bald in the middle of his scalp? I must admit, I tried to hold on to my receding hairline for years until I finally had to let it go. Lol.

Getting a haircut can be a daunting experience especially if it’s your first time in a new barbershop. With so many styles to choose from and so many factors to consider, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. However, with a little bit of knowledge and some careful consideration, you can find the perfect haircut that complements your face shape and enhances your overall appearance.

1. Determine Your Face Shape

The first step to finding the right haircut is to determine your face shape. The most common face shapes are oval, round, square, heart, and diamond. To determine your face shape, pull your hair back and examine your face in the mirror.

* Oval: Oval faces have a balanced proportion, with a slightly wider forehead and a gently rounded chin.

* Round: Round faces are characterized by full cheeks and a rounded jawline.

* Square: Square faces have a strong jawline and a squared-off hairline.

* Heart: Heart-shaped faces have a wider forehead and a pointed chin.

* Diamond: Diamond-shaped faces have a narrow forehead and a pointed chin, with wider cheekbones.

2. Consider Your Hair Type

Once you’ve determined your face shape, consider your hair type. Your hair type can impact the style and length of your haircut. For example, if you have thick, curly hair, you may want to opt for a shorter haircut to avoid excess volume. If you have fine, straight hair, longer layers can add volume and dimension.

3. Look for Inspiration

Before heading to the salon, look for inspiration. Browse magazines, social media, and websites for hairstyle ideas. Consider the celebrities or public figures whose hair you admire and see if their style would work for your face shape and hair type.

4. Consult with Your Barber

When you arrive at the barbershop consult with your barber. They can offer suggestions based on your face shape, hair type, and personal preferences. Be sure to bring pictures or examples of hairstyles you like, as well as any concerns or questions you may have.

5. Maintain Your Haircut

To keep your haircut looking its best, it’s important to maintain it properly. Schedule regular appointments with your barber to keep your hair trimmed and shaped.

In conclusion, finding the right haircut for your face shape and hair type can enhance your overall appearance and boost your confidence. You don’t want to look like this:
